Calculation period
Net losses (deposits minus withdrawals minus winnings still in account) are summed over the period, typically 24h, 7 days or a calendar month.
Percentage applied
Common rates: 5–15% standard, 10–25% in VIP tiers. The percentage is the headline; the cap and the payment form are what matter.
Payment form
Real cash (best) → withdrawable immediately. Bonus credit (worse) → subject to wagering. Bonus on next deposit (worst) → effectively a deposit-match, not cashback.
Caps and minimums
Most schemes have a minimum loss threshold (e.g. €50) and a maximum payout (e.g. €500). The maximum is what limits the value for higher-volume players.
Identifying real cashback
Real cashback hits as cash with no wagering, has no game restrictions, and applies to slot AND live casino losses equally. Anything that says "credited as bonus, 1× wagering" is essentially a deposit-match in disguise. Anything that excludes live casino losses is paying you back only for losses on games where the operator already has a 4–10× higher house edge.
